After operating his own jewelry store in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul for 28 years, our founder, Edward Basoglu, moved to Seattle and opened Olympic Jewelry across the street from the Fairmont Olympic hotel in 1979.  He was joined by his daughter Jizel in 1982, and as a result of their commitment to transparency, ethics, and providing an unmatched client experience, the business has emerged as one of the most trusted jewelers in the area.

As a young boy, Jizel’s son Michael used to clean the glass at the shop and run simple errands. Since then, he has grown into a seasoned jeweler & now owns and operates the store. Michael is the 3rd generation owner at Olympic, and a 5th generation jeweler on his mother’s side of the family.
